Each cell has two semi-cells attached in the center of the isthmus area. Some can be smooth, spindle-shaped, fusiform, crescent or lunate. Different species have cells of different shapes. The plant body of Closterium consists of a large and elongated cylindrical cell in the middle and tapering at the ends. The latitude of the place is 27.286° and longitude of 91.524° (Sharma, 2011). And this algae sample was collected near basketball court. Some of the areas are near basketball court, locality paddy field, lower town road side, etc.
It is mostly found mixed with slime and some free-floating freshwater in the Kanglung area. mostly occurs in freshwater ponds intermingled with other algae.
